Rolex Air-Kings are part of the Oyster Perpetual collection. The collection takes its name from the hermetically sealed Oyster case and Perpetual rotor, which were invented by Rolex in the 1920s and ‘30s. Sharing the Oyster Perpetual category with the DateJust and Day-Date, the Air-King is almost identical to the Oyster Perpetual watch. A perfect timepiece for a Memorial Day gift, the Air-King is Rolex’s tribute to military pilots. With its sleek lines and carefully selected colors of silver, white and blue, the watch is a highly functional work of art. Today’s Air-Kings are offered with 34 mm dials and are available in two models: 114200 and 114234. The first of these is made of stainless steel with a domed bezel and white or blue dials. The second model is two-tone steel and white gold, with a fluted bezel and silver dial. Waterproof to a hundred meters and self-winding, both are also autonomous for around fifty hours. The self-winding system, as in all Oysters, is distinguishable by two red wheels which allow the movement to rewind no matter the direction of the oscillating weight’s rotation. While earlier models were 32 and 33 mm, today’s Air-Kings are 34 mm and still considered relatively small. Thus despite the military connotation, the watch is practical, modest and unobtrusive. Instead of offering a lot of bling and flash, the Air-King lends an unpretentious confidence to its wearers. Its brand and performance speak for itself. To get the most affordable versions of these timepieces, which typically cost a few thousand dollars, look into fake Rolex Air-King watches. These can range from around one to three hundred dollars, and are identical to genuine Rolex Air-Kings. With the best made fake Rolex Air-King watches, you can acquire the watch of the elite for a comfortable price.
